What To Expect
My name is Scott Talley. In 1999, I left my hometown of Valdosta, GA to attend school here in Athens, and I loved it so much that I decided to stick around and make it my home. After graduating, I began a career in real estate, and now have lived in Athens for over 20 years. I currently reside in the 5 Points area, and I am the proud father to three boys and one baby girl. I have sixteen plus years of experience in Athens real estate, and now I am the broker/owner of 5Market Realty where we work extensively with residential, investment, and commercial real estate throughout the greater Athens area. Athens is a unique and wonderful place to raise a family, go to school, retire, or just invest in real estate. And in my job, I help clients with real estate needs either for their family, their student, their business, or their retirement.
This blog focuses primarily on real estate and things directly related to the Athens real estate market. In fact, you can even search area properties directly from this site. But overall, it provides a place for me to share market updates, answer questions, and provide local insight into the Athens market. However, from time to time, I just can’t resist sharing my thoughts on topics like Georgia Football or other issues relevant to Athens. I hope you enjoy reading it and can take away some useful information and hopefully a chuckle or two. Please keep in mind that I am not a professional writer or sports columnists. I am a real estate expert, but I am still learning when it comes to writing. So, please excuse the grammatical mistakes. Commas have been a weakness since 9th grade, and I often don’t have the time to proofread my work extensively. After all, my job is real estate and not writing.
